Our team

Meet the heart and soul behind the Beadnell Village shop and Edgewater Cafe. Our team is a close-knit family, dedicated to bringing warmth, passion and a personal touch to everything we do. Learn more about the team below.

VAL

The Big Boss

Happiest in Beadnell, the place she brought all 4 kids for every holiday as they grew up, you can rest assured that she's had plenty experience when it comes to holidaying in the local area.

As the title suggests, The Big Boss, you'll see her dotting around helping where she's needed. She is the friendly face that's always up for a good natter with passer by.

LES

The Maintenance Man

The man behind all the hard work & renovations, you'll mostly see him darting about with a power tool in hand, even when all the renovations are done... he'll still find something that needs fixed.

The behind the scenes man that you'll find picking out his next cake or scone in the cafe, with a cup of tea in hand and having a good old chitchat, mention his fishing trawler days and you'll never get away.

RACHELLE

The Beauty Queen Farmer

Find Rachelle either amongst her herd of pygmy goats, flock of Swiss Valais sheep or chasing her chickens, former beauty queen is the beautiful farmer that will be serving you your coffee, cake and hot food in our Edgewater Cafe.

Having run her own coffee shop when she was younger in the Northumberland village of Ponteland  & running the family's pub and restaurant for many years, we think she's the perfect person for the roll.

DAN

The Former Farmer

Usually found driving a tractor in the fields around Northumberland & will now be the regular face you'll see behind the counter in the village shop.

Dan, the eldest of 4 has been the farmer of the family pretty much since her left school as well as helping out with family businesses along the way. Now with a young family, he's taking a step away from his tractor & long harvesting hours to serve the local community in Beadnell your daily essentials, he'll be the cheery face you'll remember from your morning newspaper run.

EMMA

The Social Media Mummy.

Emma is the face behind the social media for both the Village shop and cafe. Juggling life with a toddler and keeping you all up to date with the latest news and goodies via social media. You will sometimes find her behind the counter in the shop with her little boy George who our customers love and you will occasionally see her serving you at Edgewater Cafe.

OH and have you tried her amazing cakes... if not you can buy them in our shop or cafe when she finds the time to get the mixing bowl out.

MATTHEW

The Popcorn Racing Driver

The youngest member of the family, the man man behind the delicious Love Popcorn that you can find on our shelves in the Beadnell Village Shop.

The petrol head of the family Matthew, can either be found behind the wheel of a Porsche on a race track or in his white coat and hair net at this Popcorn factory in County Durham.

Come in from the wind, stay for the view.
